“That luminous part of you that exists beyond personality—your soul, if you will—is as bright and shining as any that has ever been....

Believe it exists, come to know it, nurture it, share its fruits tirelessly.”

~George Saunders

Hello and Welcome

Regardless of what brought you here, know you are not alone and that there are many ways to find help. I offer a warm, open presence and a collaborative approach to counseling. I seek to understand challenges that are interfering with your well-being within the context of your unique life experience. Informed by many perspectives that include existentialism, somatics (relating to the body), and parts work/Internal Family Systems (IFS), I also practice EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which is an effective and experiential approach to healing trauma.

About Trauma
While the word is used more often now and means different things to different people, at its core, trauma simply means wound. Wounds can be personal or shared, and can be obvious or difficult to name. Sometimes there aren’t words to describe what you’re feeling, there’s just a sense that something’s off. Whatever you may be experiencing or have experienced—and however it shows up in your life—know these are natural responses to what has happened to you, not a reflection of who you are.

I’ve come to see that many of the struggles we face, both individually and collectively, are rooted in these wounds. I’ve also seen that healing is possible. As we begin to understand and care for our wounds, they can become a source of profound transformation, liberation, and joy. This is my hope for you.

After a winding path and long career in the creative industry, I made the decision to go back to school to become a counselor. I earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle with an additional certification in Trauma.

Now I have the privilege of doing the kind of work where I contribute to people’s holistic well-being on deep and meaningful levels. I’m inspired to uncover ways family, culture, and systems of oppression impact our sense of self, our values, and our overall health.
